Your First Visit to Lynbrook Baptist Church
Our Promise and Other Useful Information

We know it can be hard to "break into" a new church. Here's what we promise you as you investigate our church:

We promise to deliver...

Useful Information for Your First Visit

  1. Let us welcome you officially!
Vist the Welcome Center in the lobby. We have some literature for you and a special gift from our church.
  2. Song Time!
We sing both hymns and contemporary praise songs during our worship time. In this way we can exploit the best of the old and the new, and minister to several generations at once. Our prayer is that our music ministry leads you into a deeper experience with God.
  3. Pastor's Message
Our Pastor makes a point each week to connect truth from the Bible with the kind of things you deal with every week. A bulletin insert provides a simple outline of the message, with page numbers to make finding particular passages easy. If you have a Bible, bring it. If you don't, we have one for you.
  4. The Nursery
We are committed to providing a healthy and safe environment for your children. The nursery (infant up to 2 years) is staffed with loving caregivers during both Sunday School and the morning service. As you enter the church, it's down the hall and to your right.
  5. Toddlers
The toddler child usually likes coming to church, and it's a great time to learn the routine. (If you wait until later, you're child may no longer want to come with you.) Our toddlers (2 years through Kindergarten) have their own Sunday School class, and they go to "Primary Church"  before the service begins. Toddler Sunday School and Primary Church are held in the Toddler Room, which can best be reached by entering the church's side door.
  6. Junior Church
Junior Church children (1st through 5th grade) leave the service just before the Bible message. Volunteers lead the children through age-appropriate lessons and crafts that complement what they are learning for the day. This time allows them to experience the worship part of our service, and also to have some fun with peers.
  7. Restrooms
We have clean, modern bathrooms that are easy to find. As you enter the church, restrooms are in the hallway, on the left-hand side.
  8. Resource Table
If you would like an audiocassette copy of the pastor's message, free Christian literature on issues of life and faith, or recommended books and CDs (for sale), then you should visit our resource table at the rear of the sanctuary. We can make a tape for you of the morning's message, or, if you prefer, you can let us know by filling out the tear-off slip in your bulletin. We can have it for you the next time you visit, or drop it in the mail for you. (your choice)
  9. Learn More About Us
The best way to experience any church is to "hang around" and meet a few people. It also usually takes more than one visit to get some perspective. If you didn't come to Sunday School on your first visit, we recommend it for your second. In the Fall, Sunday School begins at 9:30am, and takes in all ages, including adults. (Think of it as continuing adult education.) These classes are more discussion-oriented and therefore a good place to get to know others, and to have your questions answered! Feel free to call the church and talk to us, and be sure to stop back into our home on the web.
  10. Give Us Some Feedback
After your visit you will receive a letter from us with more information about the church, and a visitor response card. You are encouraged to use this card to let us know about your visit. (It only takes 30 seconds.) If you'd prefer, you can send us an email and let us know if you were treated like a valued guest today. The church email address is Office@LynbrookBaptist.org.

If you have any questions about anything or any kind of problem, please ask a greeter, or one of our helpers at the Welcome Center. We want to make your visit a good one.

Thank you for your interest in Lynbrook Baptist Church!
